ProgramME 1

Coaching On Demand

This programme offers one-to-one coaching on any topics you choose, scheduled at your convenience.

The minimum entry point is 3.5 hours of coaching.

HOW IT WORKS

The first session is a Discovery coaching session lasting 90 minutes. This is the most structured session and is critical for:

  • Discussing the key aspects of coaching (like confidentiality)

  • Designing the coaching relationship together

  • Identifying your primary focus and desired outcomes of coaching

  • Uncovering your values and inner resources

These are essential foundations and reference points for the subsequent hours of coaching.

How you allocate your remaining coaching hours is up to you. I offer 30, 45, 60 or 90 minute sessions. The typical format for these sessions is as follows:

  • Recapping progress since the last coaching session - agreed actions, homework and other revelations you may have had (5%)

  • Designing the coaching relationship (5%)

  • Exploring your topic through proven exercises and questions (80%)

  • Committing to meaningful actions (10%)

WHERE, WHEN AND HOW OFTEN

All coaching sessions happen over the phone, on weekday evenings or at the weekend. I always recommend finding a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted and can talk freely.

How often coaching sessions take place is totally up to you.

For individuals who are just starting out with coaching, I typically recommend scheduling a session once every 1-2 weeks. This gives you enough time to process what happened in the last coaching session, as well as to carry out any actions you committed to. It also means that you will keep up the momentum and quickly address your topic or challenge.

After 3.5 hours of coaching, you may find that you’ve sufficiently addressed your original topic or challenge. Unless you have another burning topic that you want to address immediately and quickly, you may want to consider moving onto a little and often approach. A popular route is buying another 6 hours of coaching but using them over the course of 6 months or a year. For example:

  • February: a 60-minute session on having presence in senior meetings

  • April: a 30-minute session on setting career objectives for the coming year

  • May: a 45-minute session on whether to pursue a new job opportunity

  • Etc…

These sessions can either be booked in advance at regular intervals (e.g. a session every month) or spontaneously at a week’s notice.

WHAT YOU NEED

In technical terms, very little – simply access to a phone.
