About me
Hi, I’m EUAN
Thanks for taking the time to explore my site.
If you’ve had a read and still aren’t sure about coaching, you’re not alone.
For years I felt it was unnecessary.
Fairly self aware, analytical and supported by a network of family and friends, I could think through most personal dilemmas myself or talk it out loud with someone else. So why would I pay for a coach?
My opinion changed when I discovered something in 12 minutes of coaching that a lifetime to date hadn’t been able to teach me.
The coach’s total attention, insightful observations and curious questions kept me moving forward and deeper with my topic, enabling a ground-breaking revelation that I could never have attained on my own.
So safe to say, I’m now an advocate!
MY COACHING APPROACH
In my experience, today’s society is “a thinking society”. Be it at school, university or in the workplace, we prize the ability to think coherently and logically. And understandably so.
However, it is also my experience that thinking will only get us so far – particularly with personal topics like career direction and development. I see this time and time again with my clients, coming to coaching after much deep thinking, but with few clear answers.
In these situations, yet more thinking is rarely the answer.
That’s why, in my coaching, I help individuals to access their feelings, imagination and subconscious, bypassing their rational mind for just a few moments. Visualisations, personification, embodiment, to name a few techniques, create a different entry point to the coaching topic, unlocking new perspectives, answers and discoveries in minutes.
In addition to this, 5 essential ingredients underpin my coaching approach:
Safe: I create judgement-free, confidential spaces
Present: I give my total attention in every moment
Curious: I assume nothing and wonder about everything
Courageous: I ask the difficult questions that make the difference
Resolute: I believe in my clients more than they believe in themselves
Career experience
I coach in the weekday evenings and at weekends, as I work full-time at a company called Mind Gym as a Behaviour and Culture Change Consultant.
Mind Gym uses the latest in psychology and behavioural science to help companies change the way their people think, feel and behave. The work is fascinating and rewarding - be it developing managers or leaders, or creating psychologically safe work cultures where people can turn up and be their best selves.
Prior to Mind Gym, I worked as a retail consultant to UK supermarkets and brands, and then as an innovation and strategy consultant across media, finance, tech and auto sectors.
